Bike Tours
Ever more agencies offer mountain bikes tours in the Andes, mainly in the Colca Canyon (Arequipa) and around Cuzco.
In Lima an agency Bike Tours of Lima, proposes walks and bike tours, a different and relaxed sightseeing.
Today the municipalities of different districts promote cycling activities constructing clearances, tracks and some events especially on weekends.
Peru is the ideal country for trekking, for 1-15 days in several regions. The best known is the famous Inca Trail (4 days) to reach Machu Picchu from the Sacred Valley. Book several months in advance, it is now very popular and the number of people is limited.
Other treks are very interesting too and much less frequented, as Choquequirao (the second Machu Picchu), Vilcabamba, the Cordillera Blanca, Cordillera Huayhuash, etc., for all levels of difficulty.

With nearly 3,000 km (1,800 mi) of coastline, Peru is a blessing for surfers. There are 45 beaches where you can practice this sport, attracting many foreigners like Chicama with the longest left-hand wave in the world, Cabo Blanco with the most perfect tubular wave of Peru, Mancora, Punta Hermosa (Pico Alto), etc.
Rural tourism
Several places offer accommodation in family houses for one or more nights especially around Lake Titicaca and the region of Cusco.
Relax time
Why not spend a few days on a sandy beach with the water temperature at 27°C (80ºF) in northern villages and resorts like Mancora, Punta Sal, etc.?
Rafting
It is practiced in several rivers, including Vilcanota (Urubamba) river which runs through the Sacred Valley and Apurimac (the origin of the Amazon River), in Lunahuana and the Cañete river (south of Lima) for beginners.
